Maggie
My husband and I had recently lost our beloved dog after 15 years of wonderful life with her. We were devastated even though we knew she had had a wonderful life. By chance I saw Good Karma Rescue on facebook on a friends posting. We had not planned on looking for a new rescue pup for a while as we thought we needed to grieve the loss of Whitney a while longer. But once I went to the Good Karma site I fell in love with Brandy (Maggie on the Good Karma Site). So I quickly filled out the application and submitted it, hoping we would be considered before she was gone. We were contacted immediately and a home visit was scheduled within days. The home visit went very well and the person who interviewed us was so compassionate understanding our recent loss, we actually shared a few tears. We passed with flying colors. Even though we both work full time Good Karma knew we were loving pet owners and our dog would be well loved and cared for. Initially Brandy had been spoken by someone else, but later in the week we received a call that they had changed their mind (silly people). I was able to meet Brandy at her foster home and I fell in love with her. Being able to meet potential adoptions in a foster home is the only way. They dog has not been cooped up in a kennel and you can see first hand how they get along with other dogs and people. Brandy's foster mom was wonderful, she did not rush me in my visit and spent plenty of time with all my questions and stories. I still communicate regularly with Brandy's foster mom as she loves hearing about Brandy's new life with us. Good Karma is the only way to adopt a rescue pet. They screen the dogs for health and behavioral issues and place them in loving foster homes. After 4 months we are still amazed by Brandy and feel so lucky to have found her. She is has brought happiness to our house again and everyone who meets her is amazed at how well behaved she is. Brandy is estimated to be 2 years old, she is completely trained and extremely smart. Puppies are wonderful, but adopting a dog who is housebroken and has manners is even better, especially if you don't have young children at home to help in the raising of a puppy. I make sure I tell everyone about Good Karma Rescue, it is the only place to adopt a pet.
Thank you for believing in us and letting us adopt her.
